Greetings from Rocky Mountain Stoa, your Christian Homeschool Speech and Debate League
“Training Christian homeschooled students through Speech and Debate to better communicate a Biblical worldview”
Stoa is a national organization serving the needs of Christian Homeschooling families through Speech and Debate. It offers a competitive league for students age 12‐18, supports a growing network of clubs and coaches, and helps facilitate numerous tournaments and training opportunities across the nation.
What is Speech and Debate?
Speech and Debate is a collection of competitive, academic events in which students practice various aspects of public speaking. In interpretive events, for example, students act out an original or published work, emphasizing the hilarious or the tragic in different events. In debate, students contend to persuade the audience to different sides of a given topic. Whatever the event, participation and competition are both incredibly enjoyable and immensely rewarding.

Rocky Mountain Stoa Season Kick-off Dance
Here in the Rocky Mountains we are a friendly bunch. We like to get together with old friends and new friends and kick up our heels, Cowboy Style! Competition is still weeks or months away and now is the time to unite under our common love for Stoa Speech and Debate.
If you are new to our community, we’d love to have a chance to get acquainted. If you are grown and gone, we’d love to see you again. This is for the whole community, competitors, siblings, parents, alumni and anyone else excited about the coming season of competitions.
